It just shows that the “eye” is indeed smarter than the “I” !! I can picture this in my mind from childhood. Love fireflies! They are like magic in the night.
I love the tiny fairy lights, maybe because I too remember them from my childhood.
I saw them the other night above Bagni di Lucca…..gorgeous. We get the picture.
I just read that the fireflies (a type of beetle) use the light to attract mates and prey. Hope they can tell the difference!

Thanks, Janine. Summer is really here and there are too many sagras and events to choose from. Last night I had to choose between a Slow Food dinner given by a group of responsible fishermen, a chamber concert at St Elisabetta in Barga and a friend’s pizza party under a spreading cherry tree with sublime pizzas from her wood-fired oven. I chose the latter of course but wanted to split myself in three and go to all.
