How Covid-19 affects your travel with Sapori & Saperi Adventures
Italian government travel regulations
At the moment there are no Italian government regulations which apply to Covid-19. Should the situation change, you will have to comply with Italian regulations which are in force at the time of your visit.
If you exhibit Covid-19 symptoms while on tour with us
If you exhibit Covid-19 symptoms while you are on tour with us, we will require you to take a self-test. If you are positive for Covid-19, for 5 days after the first test or until you test negative whichever is the shorter period you will not be allowed to attend activities or meals with the group for the safety of other people in the group and our producers and restauranteurs. Subject to agreement of the accommodation, you will be able to stay in your room and order meals to be delivered. The cost of your room and of the meals will be covered by Sapori & Saperi Adventures up to the amount allocated in the budget for the tour. Any extra costs are at your own expense.
Travel insurance
Also required is travel insurance to cover such things as medical treatment, repatriation, loss of property, cancellation charges and cancellation of flights. It must specifically cover you for Covid-19 related events: for example, if you or a close relative tests positive for Covid-19 and you are unable to travel (whether because you are showing symptoms or must quarantine and cannot make your flight or you need to stay near a close relative with Covid) or if you contract Covid while you are in Italy and require medical care. We require you to tell us the name of your insurer and the policy number at the same time as the balance of your fee is due.
Booking conditions, force majeure & refund of fees
Our Booking Conditions state:
'We would postpone or cancel an Adventure or Course in the event of war, riot, civil unrest, industrial dispute, natural disaster and similar circumstances outside our control. If the UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office advises against travel, we would either cancel or adjust the itinerary to avoid risky areas.'
'Force Majeure' means unforeseeable circumstances that prevent someone from fulfilling a contract. The existence of Covid-19 is now a foreseeable circumstance. The unforeseeable circumstances related to Covid-19 that may occur between you paying your deposit and the departure date of the course or tour are:
In all other cases the cancellation fees published in our Booking Conditions apply. We will not refund your fee if you change your mind about the riskiness of travelling when Covid-19 is in circulation.
If your flights are cancelled or postponed at the last minute, we will help you find suitable public transport to the course or tour whenever you arrive or, if you prefer, we will book our driver to pick you up, both at your own expense.
Please contact us if you have any doubts or questions.
