Tastes & Textiles: Sea Silk in Sardinia
Travel planning
If you're flying from outside Europe, I suggest you arrive a couple of days early to recover from jet lag so you can fully enjoy your time with us. If you want to arrive in Cagliari a day or two early, I can ask the hotel whether you can have your room before the tour starts (at your own expense).
If you're coming with me from the Wine to Dye For tour, I advise you well in advance which flight to book from Pisa, and I arrange transport for us to Pisa Airport.

Travel: meeting point on 19 September 2024 at 1.00 pm (approx)
The official meeting point is Cagliari-Elmas airport at the gate where arrivals exit into the terminal.
I will be arriving from Pisa on a Ryanair flight that lands at 12.55 (about). If you're not on the flight with me, please check the arrivals board so you know when to come to the exit gate.
We'll grab a quick lunch (not included in tour fee) at the airport and our driver Massimo will take us from there to MuMa Hostel in Sant'Antioco.
How to get there
There are direct flights to Cagliari from other Italian and European cities. The commonest routes other clients have used are by Ryanair from Pisa and ITA Airways from Rome. Ryanair also flies from Rome Ciampino (not Rome Fiumicino).

Weather & clothing
You’re probably wondering about the weather and what you should pack. It’s really difficult to advise, because the usual weather patterns have changed so much. In general, I expect it to be warm during the day (in the 70s–80s, probably higher) and cool at night (in the 50s–60s). It's frequently windy, which helps make it feel cooler. I generally advise people to bring layers and comfortable shoes (sturdier than sandals, unless they’re sandals for hiking). Toiletries and hairdryers are provided.
Essential: mosquito repellent
If you’d like to check the weather nearer your day of departure, here’s the website I use:
https://www.ilmeteo.it/meteo/Sant%27Antioco. It’s Italian and is generally fairly accurate, but not more than 3 or 4 days in advance.

Cash
A few places don't take credit cards. There are ATMs everywhere. The safest way to travel is to bring a direct debit card with a PIN and to draw out small amounts at a time.
